Before Copper Sun
The founder’s earlier record
Copper Sun’s founder, Scott Plamondon, spent 2003 to 2009 writing for national brands at his prior firm, before Copper Sun existed: IBM, Microsoft, Visa International, Intuit, Sprint, Fujitsu America, and Old Navy. That work is the founder’s own. None of those brands is a Copper Sun client.
Past-performance rating
No federal prime history yet
Copper Sun has no federal prime contract history. Under FAR 15.305(a)(2)(iv), an offeror without a relevant past-performance record “may not be evaluated favorably or unfavorably on past performance” — the rating is neutral, not a deduction. Behind that neutral rating stands eleven years of enterprise commercial delivery, sourced above.
Compliance credential
Regulatory content a state agency approved
Scott Plamondon wrote a traffic school’s entire course — roughly 50,000 words covering driver education, impaired and distracted driving, occupant protection, and court-referred instruction. California’s DMV licensing division reviewed that course and approved it for instructional use. He owned, ran, and taught at the school until he sold his interest to his partners; it still operates today.
That course was a work sample from Scott’s own company. It is not a Copper Sun client or a past-performance reference, and the state’s approval covered the course, not the company.
